PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia has a total 12 zones of 15 zones in Indonesia, after the successful add 5 licenses in the auction 2.3 GHz Broadband Wireless Access (BWA), which the Government has done.
Altogether now, Telkom has a BWA license for 12 zones, each of the seven licenses in 3.3 GHz and five licenses in 2.3 GHz without overlap of the 15 zones in Indonesia.
Telkom has previously licensed 3.3 GHz BWA in seven zones, namely Jabodetabek and Banten, North Sumatra, Central Sumatra, South Sumatra, West Java, East Kalimantan, and West Kalimantan.
While the 2.3 GHz BWA licenses for five other zone, namely Central Java, East Java, North Sulawesi, Papua, and Maluku.
Implications of acquiring a license for the BWA business, Telkom will certainly strengthen the New Wave of Business currently grow. Technology 'new wave' will be fit at the same time the strength of Telkom Group provides solutions for both retail and corporate customers.
BWA has a competitive advantage in the speed compared to cable infrastructure(Wireline), estimates the value of the investment more attractive, fitness life style to the needs of urban communities to broadband services.
