NII Holdings, Inc., Corporate mobile communications provider with Nextel brand in Latin America, pointed to Nokia Siemens Networks to manage its network operations throughout Latin America.
This partnership makes the NII can improve service quality and customer experience as their users expect. The agreement covers the management of NII network throughout Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Peru.
Scale of this contract to be the first in Latin America and is one of the managed services agreement multi-country, multi-vendor Nokia Siemens Networks is the largest in the region.
"Our goal is to provide voice and data products are superior and different to customers in Latin America," said Steve Dussek, NII's Chief Executive Officer of Holdings, in his statement, March 5, 2010. "We are confident that the partnership with Nokia Siemens Networks will be key in our strategy to improve the position in this market," he said.
Based on the agreement, Nokia Siemens Networks will combine their expertise with the experience of the employees NII. Expertise will also be transferred to plan, design, build, maintain, optimize, and operate the network, so that operational efficiency can be achieved.
The deal makes NII can sharpen its focus on network evolution, including geographic expansion and the addition of 3G capabilities, and improve operational efficiency.
About 1,000 employees of the NII and operating companies will be Nokia Siemens Networks employees under the agreement.
