SK Telecom Co., the largest mobile operator in South Korea, plans to joint venture with PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) to provide digital content to customers of telephone companies in Southeast Asia.
SK Telecom will own 49 percent of the venture, which will have capital of 100 billion rupiah ($11 million). Telkom, as Indonesia's biggest phone operator is known, will hold the rest, Seoul-based SK Telecom said in a statement today.
The companies plan to provide music, video clips and games to Telkom subscribers and expand service to other wireless and fixed-line operators, SK Telecom said. They also signed an agreement to cooperate on services to corporate customers in industries such as health care, automobiles and education.
